All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Dazhou's incremental SNDi rose from 3.03 to 3.45 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Dazhou ranked 60th out of 98 cities in Sichuan and 1271st out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Dazhou and Morelia both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Bahraich built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Morelia and Bahraich both became progressively more disconnected, while Dazhou fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, Dazhou had a more sprawly network than Bahraich in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
