The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Wanrong plotted against Shanxi and China. The SNDi of new construction in Wanrong followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease, compared to Shanxi which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Wanrong's incremental SNDi fell from 2.88 to 1.91 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Wanrong ranked 14th out of 80 cities in Shanxi and 407th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

For the full network, Wanrong fluctuated in connectivity, while Miranpur fluctuated in connectivity and Yanting became progressively more disconnected.
