The SNDi of new construction in Zucheng peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Shandong which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Zucheng's incremental SNDi fell from 2.86 to 2.36 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Zucheng ranked 71st out of 124 cities in Shandong and 600th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
While Atlanta and Gonda both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, Zucheng built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Atlanta and Gonda both became progressively more disconnected, while Zucheng grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Zucheng and Gonda have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
