The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Jiaozhou plotted against Shandong and China. While Shandong and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Jiaozhou's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Jiaozhou's incremental SNDi rose from 3.18 to 4.43 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Jiaozhou ranked 111th out of 124 cities in Shandong and 1380th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Jiaozhou and Adama both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Beibei built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Jiaozhou and Adama both became progressively more disconnected, while Beibei grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Jiaozhou and Beibei have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
