While Shandong and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Heze's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Heze's incremental SNDi rose from 2.57 to 2.58 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Heze ranked 65th out of 124 cities in Shandong and 454th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Heze and Sousse both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Ndola built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Heze and Ndola both became progressively more disconnected, while Sousse fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, Heze had a more connected network than Sousse in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
