The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Guangrao plotted against Shandong and China. While Shandong and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Guangrao's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Guangrao's incremental SNDi rose from 1.46 to 1.83 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Guangrao ranked 18th out of 124 cities in Shandong and 93rd out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

While Wengyuan and Thuringowa Central both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, Guangrao fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Wengyuan and Thuringowa Central both became progressively more disconnected, while Guangrao fluctuated in connectivity. Guangrao and Wengyuan have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
