The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Zhouzhi plotted against Shaanxi and China. The SNDi of new construction in Zhouzhi peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Shaanxi which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Zhouzhi's incremental SNDi fell from 2.75 to 2.58 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Zhouzhi ranked 11th out of 62 cities in Shaanxi and 402nd out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Zhouzhi and Bacabal both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Begamganj built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Looking at the full network, Begamganj and Bacabal both grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Zhouzhi became progressively more disconnected. Zhouzhi and Begamganj have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
