The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Liquan plotted against Shaanxi and China. The SNDi of new construction in Liquan rose steadily, compared to Shaanxi which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Liquan's incremental SNDi rose from 2.69 to 3.71 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Liquan ranked 19th out of 62 cities in Shaanxi and 582nd out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Liquan built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Sithana fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Ponce built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Liquan and Ponce both became progressively more disconnected, while Sithana fluctuated in connectivity.
