Huayin in context
The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Huayin plotted against Shaanxi and China. While Shaanxi and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Huayin's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Huayin's incremental SNDi rose from 2.3 to 2.92 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Huayin ranked 14th out of 62 cities in Shaanxi and 461st out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Huayin and Amgaon both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Anliu built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Huayin became progressively more disconnected, while Amgaon fluctuated in connectivity and Anliu grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Notably, Huayin had a more connected network than Amgaon in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
