The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Chengcheng plotted against Shaanxi and China. While Shaanxi and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Chengcheng's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Chengcheng's incremental SNDi rose from 1.41 to 1.74 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Chengcheng ranked 1st out of 62 cities in Shaanxi and 84th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Chengcheng and Unchahar both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Tauranga built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Looking at the full network, Tauranga and Unchahar both became progressively more disconnected, while Chengcheng fluctuated in connectivity. Chengcheng and Unchahar have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
