The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Wuzhong plotted against Ningxia Hui and China. While Ningxia Hui and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Wuzhong's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Wuzhong's incremental SNDi rose from 1.85 to 1.86 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Wuzhong ranked 5th out of 15 cities in Ningxia Hui and 140th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Wuzhong and Rennes both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Morioka built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Wuzhong and Rennes both became progressively more disconnected, while Morioka grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Wuzhong and Rennes have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
