The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Wuhai plotted against Nei Mongol and China. While Nei Mongol and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Wuhai's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Wuhai's incremental SNDi rose from 1.67 to 1.98 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Wuhai ranked 1st out of 43 cities in Nei Mongol and 150th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Wuhai and Yangluo Subdistrict both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Sinnar built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Wuhai and Yangluo Subdistrict both fluctuated in connectivity, while Sinnar became progressively more disconnected. Wuhai and Yangluo Subdistrict have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
