The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Fengzhen plotted against Nei Mongol and China. The SNDi of new construction in Fengzhen peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Nei Mongol which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Fengzhen's incremental SNDi fell from 4.11 to 2.94 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Fengzhen ranked 33rd out of 43 cities in Nei Mongol and 1339th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Fengzhen built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Lwambo fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Matão built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Fengzhen grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Lwambo became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards and Matão became progressively more disconnected. Fengzhen and Lwambo have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
