The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Dongsheng plotted against Nei Mongol and China. The SNDi of new construction in Dongsheng peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Nei Mongol which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Dongsheng's incremental SNDi fell from 2.4 to 2.09 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Dongsheng ranked 2nd out of 43 cities in Nei Mongol and 307th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Dongsheng built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Valledupar fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Ondo built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Valledupar and Ondo both became progressively more disconnected, while Dongsheng grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Dongsheng and Valledupar have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
