The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Dalad plotted against Nei Mongol and China. The SNDi of new construction in Dalad rose steadily, compared to Nei Mongol which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Dalad's incremental SNDi rose from 3.39 to 3.53 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Dalad ranked 22nd out of 43 cities in Nei Mongol and 1022nd out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Dalad built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while City of Loja fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Kasongo built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Dalad and City of Loja both became progressively more disconnected, while Kasongo became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Dalad and City of Loja have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
