The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Zhuanghe plotted against Liaoning and China. The SNDi of new construction in Zhuanghe peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Liaoning which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Zhuanghe's incremental SNDi fell from 3.28 to 2.91 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Zhuanghe ranked 38th out of 61 cities in Liaoning and 955th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Zhuanghe built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Shucheng fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Raigarh built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Shucheng and Raigarh both became progressively more disconnected, while Zhuanghe grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Zhuanghe and Shucheng have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
