The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Nanhuayuan plotted against Liaoning and China. All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Nanhuayuan's incremental SNDi rose from 1.19 to 1.34 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Nanhuayuan ranked 39th out of 61 cities in Liaoning and 965th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Nanhuayuan and Myingyan both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Wellington built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Looking at the full network, Wellington and Myingyan both became progressively more disconnected, while Nanhuayuan grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Notably, Nanhuayuan had a more sprawly network than Wellington in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
