The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Laobian plotted against Liaoning and China. The SNDi of new construction in Laobian peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Liaoning which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Laobian's incremental SNDi fell from 3.15 to 2.27 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Laobian ranked 32nd out of 61 cities in Liaoning and 700th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Laobian built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Anapa built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Mansa Nagar fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Laobian grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Anapa became progressively more disconnected and Mansa Nagar became progressively more connected. Laobian and Mansa Nagar have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
