All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Dawa's incremental SNDi rose from 1.3 to 1.85 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Dawa ranked 7th out of 61 cities in Liaoning and 82nd out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Dawa fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Iserlohn built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Coatepec built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Iserlohn and Coatepec both became progressively more disconnected, while Dawa fluctuated in connectivity. Dawa and Iserlohn have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
