The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Huadian plotted against Jilin and China. The SNDi of new construction in Huadian rose steadily, compared to Jilin which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Huadian's incremental SNDi rose from 3.82 to 4.84 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Huadian ranked 30th out of 47 cities in Jilin and 1157th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Huadian built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Mulia built increasingly connected streets over time and Ar Rijad built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. Looking at the full network, Mulia and Ar Rijad both became progressively more connected, while Huadian became progressively more disconnected. Notably, Huadian had a more connected network than Mulia in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
