The SNDi of new construction in Helong peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Jilin which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Helong's incremental SNDi fell from 1.81 to 1.45 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Helong ranked 4th out of 47 cities in Jilin and 74th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

While Hastings and Spring Valley both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, Helong built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Hastings and Spring Valley both became progressively more disconnected, while Helong grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Helong and Hastings have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
