The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Dunhua plotted against Jilin and China. The SNDi of new construction in Dunhua peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Jilin which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Dunhua's incremental SNDi fell from 4.49 to 4.32 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Dunhua ranked 36th out of 47 cities in Jilin and 1360th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Dunhua built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Kankan fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Bishan fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Dunhua and Kankan both became progressively more disconnected, while Bishan fluctuated in connectivity. Dunhua and Bishan have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
