The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Xiangdong plotted against Jiangxi and China. While Jiangxi and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Xiangdong's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Xiangdong's incremental SNDi rose from 2.2 to 2.74 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In new street additions, Xiangdong and Jizhou both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Wakema built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Looking at the full network, Jizhou and Wakema both grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Xiangdong fluctuated in connectivity.
