The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Wuyuan plotted against Jiangxi and China. While Jiangxi and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Wuyuan's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Wuyuan's incremental SNDi rose from 2.24 to 2.63 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Wuyuan ranked 27th out of 82 cities in Jiangxi as of 2020.

In new street additions, Wuyuan fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Pa Tong built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Narsampet built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Wuyuan fluctuated in connectivity, while Pa Tong became progressively more disconnected and Narsampet became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Wuyuan and Pa Tong have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
