The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Zhenjiang plotted against Jiangsu and China. The SNDi of new construction in Zhenjiang peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Jiangsu which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Zhenjiang's incremental SNDi fell from 2.89 to 2.84 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In new street additions, Zhenjiang built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Bilbao built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Pointe-Noire built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Looking at the full network, Bilbao and Pointe-Noire both became progressively more disconnected, while Zhenjiang became progressively more connected. Zhenjiang and Pointe-Noire have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
