The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Xuyi County plotted against Jiangsu and China. The SNDi of new construction in Xuyi County fell steadily, compared to Jiangsu which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Xuyi County's incremental SNDi fell from 2.17 to 1.94 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Xuyi County ranked 25th out of 101 cities in Jiangsu and 369th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Xuyi County built increasingly connected streets over time, while 小名浜愛宕上 built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Nikopol fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. Looking at the full network, 小名浜愛宕上 and Nikopol both became progressively more disconnected, while Xuyi County became progressively more connected. Notably, Xuyi County had a more sprawly network than Nikopol in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
