The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Nianzhuang plotted against Jiangsu and China. The SNDi of new construction in Nianzhuang followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease, compared to Jiangsu which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Nianzhuang's incremental SNDi fell from 1.83 to 1.76 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Nianzhuang ranked 9th out of 101 cities in Jiangsu and 116th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Nianzhuang fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Lehra fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Luotian County built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Nianzhuang became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards, while Lehra fluctuated in connectivity and Luotian County grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Notably, Nianzhuang had a more sprawly network than Luotian County in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
