The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Dongtai plotted against Jiangsu and China. The SNDi of new construction in Dongtai peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Jiangsu which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Dongtai's incremental SNDi fell from 3.23 to 2.59 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Dongtai ranked 43rd out of 101 cities in Jiangsu and 721st out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Dongtai and Kirov both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Khammam fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. Looking at the full network, Khammam and Kirov both became progressively more disconnected, while Dongtai grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Dongtai and Khammam have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
