The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Yueyang plotted against Hunan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Yueyang peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Hunan which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Yueyang's incremental SNDi fell from 2.47 to 1.51 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020.

In new street additions, Yueyang built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Bragança Paulista built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Zhecheng built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Looking at the full network, Bragança Paulista and Zhecheng both became progressively more disconnected, while Yueyang grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Notably, Yueyang had a more sprawly network than Bragança Paulista in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
