The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Yuanjiang plotted against Hunan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Yuanjiang peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Hunan which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Yuanjiang's incremental SNDi fell from 3.38 to 3.02 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Yuanjiang ranked 53rd out of 89 cities in Hunan as of 2020.

In new street additions, Yuanjiang and Badarpur both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Chuadanga built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Badarpur and Chuadanga both became progressively more disconnected, while Yuanjiang grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Yuanjiang and Chuadanga have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
