The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Yong'an plotted against Hunan and China. While Hunan and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Yong'an's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease. Most recently, Yong'an's incremental SNDi rose from 2.79 to 2.86 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Yong'an ranked 45th out of 89 cities in Hunan and 982nd out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Yong'an fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Sariakandi fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Laohekou built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Yong'an grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Sariakandi became progressively more connected and Laohekou became progressively more disconnected. Yong'an and Sariakandi have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
