The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Wuxi plotted against Hunan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Wuxi followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease, compared to Hunan which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Wuxi's incremental SNDi fell from 5.12 to 3.89 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In new street additions, Wuxi fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Caratinga built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Shangri-La built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Wuxi fluctuated in connectivity, while Caratinga became progressively more disconnected and Shangri-La grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Wuxi and Caratinga have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
