The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Lixian plotted against Hunan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Lixian peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Hunan which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Lixian's incremental SNDi fell from 2.73 to 2.37 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Lixian ranked 11th out of 89 cities in Hunan and 290th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Lixian built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Itabuna built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Đà Lạt fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend.
