The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Hengdong plotted against Hunan and China. While Hunan and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Hengdong's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Hengdong's incremental SNDi rose from 1.47 to 1.98 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Hengdong ranked 2nd out of 89 cities in Hunan and 83rd out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Hengdong and Lysychansk both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Minh Tân built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Hengdong fluctuated in connectivity, while Lysychansk became progressively more disconnected and Minh Tân grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved.
