The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Baojing plotted against Hunan and China. While Hunan and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Baojing's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease. Most recently, Baojing's incremental SNDi rose from 2.16 to 2.35 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Baojing ranked 46th out of 89 cities in Hunan and 1000th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

While Haflong and Salamiyah both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, Baojing fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. For the full network, Baojing grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Haflong grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Salamiyah became progressively more disconnected. Baojing and Haflong have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
