The SNDi of new construction in Yunyang peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Hubei which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Yunyang's incremental SNDi fell from 3.49 to 3.03 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Yunyang ranked 49th out of 77 cities in Hubei as of 2020.

While Kabongo and Qinghe both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, Yunyang built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved in new street additions. For the full network, Yunyang grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Kabongo became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards and Qinghe fluctuated in connectivity.
