The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Yidu plotted against Hubei and China. The SNDi of new construction in Yidu peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Hubei which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Yidu's incremental SNDi fell from 3.52 to 1.94 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Yidu ranked 27th out of 77 cities in Hubei and 698th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Yidu and Srinagar both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Ben Guerir built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Yidu and Ben Guerir have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
