The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Nanzhang plotted against Hubei and China. The SNDi of new construction in Nanzhang followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Hubei which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Nanzhang's incremental SNDi fell from 1.54 to 1.13 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Nanzhang ranked 1st out of 77 cities in Hubei and 11th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Nanzhang fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Banjarmasin built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Chengjiang built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Nanzhang fluctuated in connectivity, while Banjarmasin became progressively more disconnected and Chengjiang grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Nanzhang and Banjarmasin have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
