The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Zhengyang plotted against Henan and China. While Henan and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Zhengyang's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Zhengyang's incremental SNDi rose from 2.24 to 2.32 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Zhengyang ranked 49th out of 129 cities in Henan and 346th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Zhengyang and Sandoa both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Young Leninist built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Zhengyang and Young Leninist both became progressively more disconnected, while Sandoa fluctuated in connectivity. Zhengyang and Young Leninist have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
