In new street additions, Xinyang built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns, while Bathinda fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Shahkot built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Xinyang became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards, while Bathinda fluctuated in connectivity and Shahkot became progressively more disconnected. Notably, Xinyang had a more sprawly network than Shahkot in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
