The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Xinxian plotted against Henan and China. While Henan and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Xinxian's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Xinxian's incremental SNDi rose from 3.41 to 5.03 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Xinxian ranked 123rd out of 129 cities in Henan and 1477th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

Xinxian, K'Ali K'Esa Bota, and Mule all fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street construction. Looking at the full network, K'Ali K'Esa Bota and Mule both fluctuated in connectivity, while Xinxian became progressively more disconnected. Xinxian and K'Ali K'Esa Bota have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
