The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Tongbai plotted against Henan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Tongbai followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease, compared to Henan which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Tongbai's incremental SNDi fell from 1.89 to 1.74 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Tongbai ranked 31st out of 129 cities in Henan and 190th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Tongbai and Amora both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Karhal fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Tongbai became progressively more connected, while Amora became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards and Karhal fluctuated in connectivity. Tongbai and Amora have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
