The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Nanyang plotted against Henan and China. While Henan and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Nanyang's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Nanyang's incremental SNDi rose from 2.68 to 3.01 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Nanyang ranked 71st out of 129 cities in Henan and 718th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Nanyang and Chenghai both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Bokaro built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Nanyang and Bokaro both became progressively more disconnected, while Chenghai fluctuated in connectivity. Nanyang and Chenghai have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
