The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Linying plotted against Henan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Linying followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease, compared to Henan which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Linying's incremental SNDi fell from 1.7 to 1.3 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Linying ranked 7th out of 129 cities in Henan and 45th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

While Habiganj and Srikakulam both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Linying fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Habiganj and Srikakulam both became progressively more disconnected, while Linying fluctuated in connectivity. Linying and Habiganj have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
