The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Fengqiu plotted against Henan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Fengqiu rose steadily, compared to Henan which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Fengqiu's incremental SNDi rose from 2.55 to 2.57 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Fengqiu ranked 59th out of 129 cities in Henan and 467th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Fengqiu built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while San Juan de Los Morros built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Johi fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Fengqiu became progressively more disconnected, while San Juan de Los Morros grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Johi became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Fengqiu and Johi have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
