The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Nenjiang plotted against Heilongjiang and China. While Heilongjiang and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Nenjiang's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Nenjiang's incremental SNDi rose from 3.01 to 3.91 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Nenjiang ranked 49th out of 67 cities in Heilongjiang and 936th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Nenjiang and Nao Deh both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Motherwell built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Looking at the full network, Motherwell and Nao Deh both grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Nenjiang became progressively more disconnected. Notably, Nenjiang had a more connected network than Motherwell in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
