The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Mishan plotted against Heilongjiang and China. While Heilongjiang and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Mishan's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Mishan's incremental SNDi rose from 2.94 to 4.3 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Mishan ranked 24th out of 67 cities in Heilongjiang and 331st out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Mishan and Cangxi County both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Dir built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Mishan and Dir have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
