The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Jidong plotted against Heilongjiang and China. The SNDi of new construction in Jidong rose steadily, compared to Heilongjiang which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Jidong's incremental SNDi rose from 4.28 to 4.46 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Jidong ranked 58th out of 67 cities in Heilongjiang and 1204th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Jidong and Lubuk Sikaping both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Bognor Regis built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Jidong and Lubuk Sikaping both became progressively more disconnected, while Bognor Regis grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Notably, Jidong had a more sprawly network than Lubuk Sikaping in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
