The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Huanan plotted against Heilongjiang and China. The SNDi of new construction in Huanan peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Heilongjiang which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Huanan's incremental SNDi fell from 3.45 to 2.42 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Huanan ranked 43rd out of 67 cities in Heilongjiang and 789th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Huanan built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Jecheon-si fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Banyo fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Huanan grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Jecheon-si became progressively more disconnected and Banyo fluctuated in connectivity. Huanan and Banyo have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
