The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Zhaoxian plotted against Hebei and China. The SNDi of new construction in Zhaoxian rose steadily, compared to Hebei which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Zhaoxian's incremental SNDi rose from 2.81 to 2.82 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Zhaoxian ranked 41st out of 120 cities in Hebei and 706th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Zhaoxian and Dalga‘a both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Vĩnh Yên built increasingly connected streets over time. For the full network, Zhaoxian and Dalga‘a both became progressively more disconnected, while Vĩnh Yên became progressively more connected. Zhaoxian and Vĩnh Yên have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
